Intelligent electronics, sensitive sensors and SAWSTOP technology. All of the above has been in the focus of the manufacturer FESTOOL for the creation of the desktop circular TKS 80.
The machine will be presented to the general public by Tooltechnic Systems during the exhibition Architectural-Building Week 2020.
TKS 80 provides conditions for a safe working environment for professionals. This is possible thanks to the integrated SAWSTOP technology and with the help of sensitive sensors; in contact with human skin, the circular disc stops for 5 milliseconds and disappears into the work surface. The electronics activate the pre-loaded spring. In contact with the skin, it ejects an aluminum block into the circular disc. After activation, the cartridge is changed quickly and easily – with a few hand movements.
The capabilities of TKS 80 make it applicable for the construction of wood structures, finishing and repair activities, furniture production and installations.
Emergence of SawStop technology: It all starts in a barn in the state of Oregon
The SawStop technology was developed by Dr. Steve Gus, who later founded the SawStop Company – one of the leading suppliers of circular saws in the USA.
